This is wrong
NYM 9, OAK 6
First of all, it's raining today, and hard. If the game was a night game it would have been rained out. It's not supposed to rain in mid-June in Northern California. This is not Atlanta, Chicago or even Hong Kong, but it's Northern California.
The A's lost today, which I was half expecting a loss since Ryan Glynn, our backup number five guy, I guess, took the mound. How the A's lost however, was not expected.
Juan Cruz had another meltdown on the mound resulting in a seven run fifth inning for the Mets. Granted, Glynn lost the lead with 3-run Beltran blast but the game was still in reach when Juan Cruz came in. Instead of putting the fire out, he poured gasoline on it. Instead of being a fireman he was a Ray Bardbury fireman and started burning things, like the firemen in Farenheit 451. This guy has good stuff but, he's just wrong in the head. Send him down to AAA, he's no good to himself or the team in Oakland.
With Meyer still injured and Charles Thomas in AAA looking for his swing (and apparently suceeding), the Tim Hudson trade isn't looking so good. But on the other hand, neither is Hudson; he has oblique troubles, again.
Seriously, why didn't they use Yabu in long relief? I trust him more than I trust Cruz, and ethnicity has nothing to do with it.
On the good news department, Harden's going to start his rehab assignment in Sacramento tomorrow. And please check out Batman Begins, this is probably the best movie I've seen all summer. It was everything I expected and more. Good action and deep, deep plot. The Batman Franchise has redeemed itself.
