What we've all been waiting for...

The 2005 A's Commericals are here. With four more to come.

Movie Star:

Excellent concept, I've never made the connection that Bobby Crosby looked like Brad Pitt. Execution, not so good, it felt like a five minute scene forced into a thirty second spot.

Autographs:

The last bit five seconds of the ad is priceless.

The Old Man:

"Movement is a product of which that does not move." - Barry Zito

These aren't as good as the commercials they made last year (especially "Video Game Rookie") but they're way better than the insufferable ads for the Giants on KNBR. I've never heard of more overtly deferential crap about Barry Bonds ever until I heard those ads on the radio.

Oh it seems that Barry Bonds may be out for the year. Well, there goes the Giants Barry-centric marketing campaign. And with it goes the Giant's Barry-centric plan to win the NL West this year. That roster with a bunch of old guys is the '04 Mariners waiting to happen. I wonder how attendance will be at SBC when the Giants suck ass this year. Will this help the A's attendance?
Bonds said he was tired and disappointed following a winter in which he was accused of steroid use, his grand jury testimony was leaked and he had two knee operations. He blamed his troubles on the media.

"You wanted me to jump off a bridge, I finally did," Bonds said. "You finally brought me and my family down. ... So now go pick a different person."
You know, the media wouldn't be bothering you if you had been nice to them all these years. The media would have even defended you throughout this mess if you had been friendly to them, instead of acting like a prima donna. The media is just returning the favor. Also it's you own damn fault that you had an extramarital affair, did some underhanded tax suff and used steroids. If you did none of these things the media wouldn't have any ammo against you. As I have said many a time, you reap what you sow.
