Sitzprobe

It's basically a fancy term for "orchestra rehearsal with the singers." We had our sitzprobe today for Traviata and it was awesome. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area and is reading this, please check out the show for yourself. You won't be disappointed. We open a week from today and here's a link. Despite that fact that half the cast was sick, and I had some super tough mystery phlegm that's affecting my singing right now.

The flu or cold or whatever is really doing the rounds this year.

I blame it on the not-very-cold-at-all California wet season (note how I don't call it a "winter"). We can get away with summer clothes in our "winter." I know people who wear flip-flops 365 days a year. Since we don't feel the need to bundle up, as opposed to people who live in places with real winters, we're more suceptible to cold.

Although my voice is fine, I'm tired of warming up twice as long to clear my throat. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow and see what I can do about this.
