A reason for optimism?

From today's Chronicle:
One stumbling block that has cropped up: Kotsay, who would drop his player option for the deal, would like a no-trade clause, something that the A's have refused. Genske said that he and Kotsay are open to finding a creative means around that, perhaps some sort of limited trade clause.

(empahsis, mine)
I sure hope Kotsay stays for a few more years. If he stays, is this what A's fandom has been looking for all these years, an increased payroll? Will the A's be a $70 million team next year?
