Deja Vu

OAK 0, NYY 7

18 scoreless innings and counting...

Back to back shutouts...

A's inability to drive in runners in scoring position...

A big power outage in the A's lineup...

A's leaving the bases loaded twice without scoring a single run...

Mediocre pitchers all of a sudden become Cy Young in front of the A's lineup...

Where have I seen this before?

Rich Harden has an ERA of 1.94 and has pitched extremely well for this season. In fact our entire rotation has pitched well lately, but what do we have to show for it? Nothing.

The A's can hit all right, they had seven hits today, as long as those hits don't lead to runs scored. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the worst offense in the Major Leagues.

However on the plus side we must be leading the league in LOB totals...wait that isn't a plus, that sucks.

This morning, between masses at church I was sitting in the kitchen sipping a cup of herbal tea. All of a sudden Veronica, a member of my choir, comes in and says, "They left the bases loaded without scoring!" I said, "It's the A's, go figure."
Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who fail to drive in runners in scoring position.
As a Christian I try my best to be a forgiving man, but my patience is wearing thin. The A's should be playing much better than they are right now. The pitchers are doing their part of the job, it's time for the hitters to do the same. We're going to start a series with the BoSox, if the A's can't beat the Yankees, how can they beat the Sox?

And once again, the A's are the springboard the Yankees use to right themselves.

In other news EiO has a great post on why people should ditch IE and make the switch to Firefox, he also has a much more articulate take on Eric Chavez, it's basically the same as mine, but he has stats to back him up.
