Spring Training Updates

What is up with Barry Zito's hair? Look at the photo below.

It's not a mullet, and it's not quite Johnny Damon Jesus/Hippie wannabe, but it's long. It's the longest I've ever seen Zito's hair. Not that I'm a giggly little girl who obsesses about these things like the ones here.

Also an update regarding our cross-bay rivals, the Giants.

BARRY BONDS IS A BIG LEAGUE BITCH

Here's a few snippets from the article on ESPN.com:

He called reporters liars, and pointed to problems in the world he considers much more important than steroids, such as alcoholism and drug abuse.

Way to go Barry, at least Giambi was humble when he faced the press. Call the press liars, that's real classy, Barry.

"I don't know what cheating is," he said. "I don't believe steroids can help your eye-hand coordination, technically hit a baseball. I just don't believe it. That's my opinion."

Yes, steroids won't help your hand-eye coordination, you can ask Marvin Benard about that. But steroids can turn a good contact hitter (that's what you were back when you were with Pittsburgh) into a home run hitter. You have more strength now to hit balls into McCovey Cove, what was once a routine fly ball would now leave the yard.

"Because Babe Ruth is one of the greatest baseball players ever, and Babe Ruth ain't black, either," he said. "I'm black. Blacks, we go through a little more. ... I'm not a racist though, but I live in the real world. I'm fine with that."

Ah, yes, the race card. I'm pretty sure you have it a whole lot easier than another black man who was approaching the Babe's HR mark, Hank Aaron. Did you receive any death threats? Are you booed on the road? Well yes, but it's not because you're black, I can assure you of that. It's because you're not a nice guy and you use steroids. I believe that whenever you pull out the race card, somewhere in Georgia, Hank Aaron's already low opinion of you is sinking even lower.

You reap what you sow Barry, have fun this season. Because I'll sure have fun when you come over to my side of the bay for interleague.
